Flow State (Vivid Flow Remix) is a Liquid Drum & Bass rework of the original Flow State ambient track, produced for the AarDHD project. Running for 8 minutes, it takes the same 11Hz binaural beat from the original and rebuilds it over a rolling 174 BPM breakbeat — creating what the project calls propulsive calm: a state of energised, forward-moving focus rather than still, quiet concentration.
This is focus music for people who find ambient tracks too passive. If you work better with rhythm and momentum, but still need the calm, grounded mental state that comes with alpha wave entrainment, the Vivid Flow Remix was made for you.

The Vivid Flow Remix is a functional music track built around the same core frequency engineering as the original Flow State, but designed for a different working style. Where the original creates stillness, this creates movement. The breakbeat provides rhythmic structure and forward drive while the binaural entrainment works underneath, guiding the brain toward the same alpha state — calm, alert, and focused.
It was produced as part of the wider AarDHD library, which aims to cover different neurotypes, working styles, and focus needs. Some people concentrate better in silence. Some need ambient music. Some need rhythm. The Vivid Flow Remix is for the third group.
The 11Hz binaural frequency is preserved from the original track and functions identically — requiring stereo headphones to work as intended. At 11Hz, the target brainwave state is alpha: relaxed alertness, reduced anxiety, and sustained attention.
The difference is the musical context around it. At 174 BPM, the Liquid DnB arrangement creates a sense of controlled momentum. The bass is present but not overwhelming. The breaks are rolling rather than aggressive. The overall effect is music that feels like it is going somewhere, which for many people — particularly those with ADHD — is more useful than music that deliberately goes nowhere.
Headphones are essential for the binaural entrainment effect. The track functions as music without them, but the frequency engineering requires the stereo separation that only headphones provide.
Liquid Drum & Bass sits at the more melodic, atmospheric end of the DnB spectrum. It is characterised by flowing basslines, lush pads, and rolling breakbeats that prioritise feel over aggression. That makes it a better fit for functional music purposes than harder DnB subgenres — there is enough energy to drive focus without creating the kind of arousal that disrupts concentration.
For people with ADHD in particular, the rhythmic predictability of a rolling breakbeat can provide the light external structure that helps sustain attention on a task. It occupies the part of the brain that would otherwise go looking for stimulation, leaving the rest free to work.
The remix was produced with the same attention to the binaural engineering as the original. The 11Hz frequency offset is maintained precisely across the stereo field throughout the track. Musically, the arrangement uses rolling breakbeats, sub-bass, atmospheric pads, and melodic lead elements to build a coherent sonic environment that supports rather than competes with focus.
The mix is designed to sit comfortably at moderate listening volumes for extended periods — no ear fatigue, no sudden dynamic jumps, no elements that demand attention away from work.
The Vivid Flow Remix is for anyone who finds pure ambient music too passive for productive work. In particular:
ADHD listeners who need rhythmic structure to anchor attention and prevent mind-wandering during tasks.
High-energy workers who operate better with momentum — coders, writers, designers, anyone whose work has a flow state that benefits from forward drive rather than stillness.
DnB and electronic music fans who want the focus benefits of binaural beats without the clinical, drone-heavy sound that most entrainment audio relies on.
Anyone who found the original Flow State too quiet for their working style but still wants the 11Hz alpha frequency benefits.
The Vivid Flow Remix is available on YouTube, Bandcamp, Spotify and Mirlo. Headphones recommended for the full binaural entrainment effect.
